What is the Howle Hill Memorial Project about?
The Howle Hill Memorial Project (HHMP) is a community-led project spearheaded in 2018 to transform a neglected and overgrown site next to the old bus stop at the top of Sharman Pitch. The plan is to establish a commemorative garden to honour the sacrifices of residents in a more fitting way and move the present war memorial stone to a more prominent position inside a beautifully tended garden.
I’m a local resident, how can I help?
Volunteers are needed to help create and maintain the site. If you have some spare time to help, we would love to hear from you. If you can’t give your time, a financial donation to the project would be very welcome!
I’m a local business how can I help?
The project will need financial support and the group is appealing for local businesses that would be interested in sponsoring the project.
