Consultation on the options for the location and scale of new development throughout the county is now live and will run until 28 February 2022.
The new document, which will replace the current Core Strategy, will determine growth and development across the county over the next 20 years. It will ensure that we deliver the required housing, alongside the jobs, and supporting community infrastructure and services in a way that is appropriate for the rural nature and historic character of the County.
A reminder that official notice of a formal pre-submission public consultation of The Draft Walford Neighbourhood Development Plan has been posted.
Walford Parish Council invites comments on the Draft Plan. All responses received will be considered by the Parish Council to inform a revised version of the Plan. The revised version of the Plan will then be submitted to Herefordshire Council, as the local planning authority, for examination by an independent examiner.
Walford Neighbourhood Development Plan has been developed to help deliver the local community’s requirements and aspirations for the plan period up to 2031. The Plan has been created through listening to the views of the residents of the Parish.
The Plan will provide a means of guiding, promoting and enabling balanced and sustainable change and growth within the designated area of Walford Parish.

As the year draws to a close it is a good time to reflect on the challenges and losses that our communities have faced once again during 2021, and be thankful for the many that have supported our neighbours, friends and loved ones throughout this difficult period.

We were so pleased to be able to hold our annual Christmas Community Lunch on Sunday 19th December.
Numbers restricted, table service and an inventive seating plan meant that we were able to stay socially distanced and feel safe – while still socialising with our neighbours. Many thanks to Hanks’ Meat & Game for the turkey which was delicious – and the volunteers who cooked the dinner, waited on tables and supplied the superb desserts.
