Duck Race weekend is fast approaching!

August Bank Holiday Weekend: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday The Paddle at Kerne Bridge is open from 9:00am, you’ll get a warm welcome from Boo and Charlie. Enjoy a beautiful riverside setting. There’s Pizza and a Bar each evening as well.

Sunday 27th August 3:00pm, All Saints Church are holding Hymns & Pimms at Bishopswood Village Hall – a Service with Berry Hill Brass Band followed by Pimms and strawberries & cream @ just £3 per person.

Monday 28th August Walford Village Hall are holding their Family Fun day from 11:00am to 4:00pm.

Monday 28th August Bishopswood Village Hall will be holding the 29th Annual Duck Race along with a relaxed BBQ, Bar, and Background Music from 4:00pm.

Duck Race & BBQ tickets will be being sold at the Walford Family Fun day and at Bishopswood Village Hall before the Duck Launch at around 5:00pm. Ducks are £1 each, BBQ is £6 per person.

Friends of Bishopswood Village Hall

Bishopswood Village Hall is a charity with the objective of providing a facility for the local community, for the purpose of holding meetings, lectures, classes, and other forms of recreation with the aim of improving the quality of life for those in our community. The Friends of Bishopswood Village Hall is a membership organisation whose members volunteer to help deliver that objective.

Friends membership is free of charge. Members have access to exclusive events throughout the year, early notification of upcoming events, priority places for some events, entry into an annual draw, and access to the Friends volunteering website.  Membership can also provide the opportunity to gain or improve a new skill, and it’s a great way of getting to know new people and your community.

Volunteering opportunities are managed through a purpose-built website accessible from PCs, Tablets and phones, all under your own control.  Once you have created an account you can use the Friends website to volunteer to help as much or as little as you wish, there is no obligation.

The village hall is your space, why not have the satisfaction that being involved in one of our communities’ greatest assets.

For the August Café, we are collecting “Bags for Life” to donate to the Ross Community Larder. If you have any spare, bring them along and we’ll pass them on.
